India’s GAIL aims to buy seven LNG cargoes

GAIL of India is reportedly looking to purchase seven liquefied natural gas cargoes for delivery from October 2015 until December 2016.

According to Reuters, the deliveries will be split between Dabhol, Dahej and Hazira import terminals. The delivery windows are October-November 15, January-February 16, March-April 16, May-June 16, July-August 16, October 16 and November-December 16.

India has this week approved a policy for supply of more LNG to power producers in a bid to rescue and revive stranded generation assets.

The Government has selected GAIL to import LNG for power plants outside Gujarat, while Gujarat State Petronet will import the chilled for the power plants based in Gujarat, according to local reports.
