Indonesia gives environmental permit for Abadi FLNG

 Indonesia has granted an environmental permit for the Abadi gas field in the Masela Block, the Arafura Sea, Indonesia.

Japan’s Inpex announced today that through its affiliated company INPEX Masela Ltd., it received an environmental permit from the Government of Indonesia based on the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment of the Abadi LNG Project which is currently being prepared for development utilizing the Floating LNG (FLNG) concept.

Environmental and Social Impact Assessment is known locally as AMDAL (Analisis Mengenai Dampak Lingkungan).

The Abadi gas field will be developed in phases and one FLNG plant will be constructed and utilized for the annual LNG production of 2.5 million ton for the first phase development.
First production from the field is expected to begin in 2018.
