Intertek Acquires Pacifica Marine in Papua New Guinea


Intertek, a leading global provider of quality and safety solutions, has acquired Pacifica Marine, a marine cargo inspection and surveying company operating in Papua New Guinea.

Strategically located in Port Moresby, Pacifica Marine provides a wide scope of survey, inspection and marine insurance related services. Expertise includes bulk cargo inspection, hull and machinery surveys, loading and discharge supervision and inspection, P&I club surveys and investigation, supervision of quality analysis, as well as cargoes associated with large LNG projects. Pacifica Marine has been serving the local Papua New Guinea petroleum and agricultural industries since 2002, and is affiliated with various international industry organizations.

The addition of Pacifica Marine complements existing Intertek operations at the Port Moresby oil refinery and at minerals facilities in Lae and Alotau.
