KKB’s OceanMight to build Tanjong Baram platform

KKB Engineering’s associate company, OceanMight Sdn Bhd has received a letter of award from 2H Offshore Engineering Sdn Bhd for the provision of fabrication, hook-up and commissioning services for Tanjong Baram Wellhead Platform.

Contract sum is worth approximately 14.5 million Malaysian Ringgits ($4.5 million). The contract is expected to start this month, and scheduled fabrication completion is within March 2015 .

The said letter of award is subject to a formal contract to be entered into between both parties.

A wellhead platform is a minimum facilities offshore platform used to locate well control and production facilities on the surface. No accommodation, processing or drilling facilities are provided. Wells are drilled from the platform with the assistance of a mobile drilling rig.

OceanMight Sdn. Bhd. (OMSB), an associate company of KKB Engineering Berhad, is a PETRONAS licensed fabrication yard for offshore facilities construction. The company’s offshore oil and gas product range includes substructures, inter-platform bridges, topsides (well head platform, central processing platforms and compression platforms, modules, decks, living quarters), jackets, process skids and modular compression skids.
