KPI OceanConnect wraps up first simultaneous LNG bunkering operation in Singapore

Marine energy solutions provider KPI OceanConnect has completed its first simultaneous operation of LNG bunkering in Singapore.

KPI OceanConnect said it conducted the simultaneous LNG bunkering operation via Pavilion Energy’s chartered 12,000 cubic meter bunker vessel Brassavola to Mediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) containership Monica Cristina.

The operation took place at Tuas container terminal, along with loading and unloading procedures, improving efficiency, the company revealed in a social media post on April 8.

In one of its other recent milestone bunkering activities, KPI OceanConnect carried out the first LNG bunkering operation for SFL Corporation’s new car carrier Emden in December 2023.

The ship was loaded with 3,000 cubic meters of LNG in the Port of Emden, marking KPI OceanConnect’s inaugural LNG deal for a car carrier.

The marine energy solutions supplier was established in 2020 following the merger of marine fuel broking firm KPI Bridge Oil and oil trading company OceanConnect Marine.

Since then, the company engaged in numerous activities for delivering alternative fuels, such as LNG and biofuel, to shipping majors.
