The order, worth KRW 260 billion (around $217 million), was placed for the 174,000 cbm LNG carrier to be constructed by KSOE’s unit Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.

As informed, the delivery of the ship is scheduled for the second half of 2024.

Further details about the contract and client were not revealed.

This contract follows the shipbuilding major’s recent orders for the construction of five vessels – three 7,900 TEU LNG containerships and two 50,000-ton petrochemical carriers.

According to local news agencies, KSOE’s orders are valued at a combined $4.37 billion, accomplishing 25% of its annual goal of $17.4 billion worth of orders.
