Lithuania: Klaipeda LNG regas volumes soar in June

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification volumes at Lithuania’s first and only import terminal in the port of Klaipeda rocketed in June.

The terminal operator Klaipedos Nafta’s data shows that the company’s LNG import terminal and its small-scale LNG facility have regasified and reloaded 2.43 TWh of natural gas in June, 196.7 percent above the 0.82 TWh recorded during the same period of 2018.

During the first six months of 2019, the company in total regasified and reloaded 6.42 TWh of the natural gas which compares to 4.52 TWh during the same period of 2018.

Sales revenue from the LNG facility in June was impacted by currency exchange rate change in regulated activity reaching €0.5 million ($0.56 million) which compares to €5.3 million in the corresponding period in 2018.

The preliminary revenue of the LNG terminal for the first half of 2019 comprise €37.4 million and are higher by 14.7 percent compared to the €32.6 million reported in the same period of 2018.
