LNG-Gorskaya orders Russia’s first LNG bunker vessels

LNG-Gorskaya of Russia informed that is has signed a contract with United Shipbuilding Corporation for the construction of the country’s first three LNG bunkering vessels. 

LNG-Gorskaya said in a statement that the vessels will be used for its LNG plant project at Gorskaya station near St. Petersburg that will have a production capacity of 1.12 mtpa of liquefied natural gas.

Under the agreement, USC will build three 7,300 cbm LNG bunkering vessels with the construction expected to take 22 months, the company said. The agreement also includes an option for six additional vessels. All vessels will feature GTT’s LNG containment systems. The contract is valued at 5.67 billion rubles.

LNG-Gorskaya’s project envisioned as a complex on a non-self-propelled barge, able to process 1.968 billion cubic meters of gas per year is set for completion in December 2016. BaltGasBunker was initially set to implement the project.
