LNG terminal at Kakinada gets government approval

LNG terminal and an FSRU at the Kakinada deep water port in India has been given a green light by The Cabinet.

I&PR Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy said that the unit being set up by AP Gas Distribution, GAIL, Shell and GDF Suez will facilitate the supply of imported gas to the industry in the region of Andhra Pradesh, reports The Hindu.

The terminal will start with a capacity of up to 5 million tons per annum (mtpa) and is designed for easy expandability to 10+ mtpa to meet the surging demand for gas in the region.
