Lundin Petroleum drills dry well offshore Malaysia

Swedish oil and gas explorer Lundin Petroleum has failed to unearth oil and gas at an offshore in well Malaysia.

According to the company, the Selada-1 exploration well in Block PM308A, well was dry and has been plugged and abandoned.

The well was targeting hydrocarbons in Miocene aged sands approximately 14 km to the south of the Bertam field operated by Lundin Malaysia. Selada-1 was drilled with the West Prospero jack-up rig.

Lundin Malaysia holds 75 percent working interest in PM308A. Partner is Petronas Sdn Bhd with 25 percent working interest. Lundin Malaysia, a subsidiary of Lundin Petroleum, operates seven blocks in Malaysia, namely PM307, PM319, PM308A, PM308B, PM328, SB303 and SB307/308.
