 Marin opens new subsea base

Marin has expanded its subsea business by establishing a base in the Gulf Coast. The objective is to support clients in the areas of deepwater excavation, claycutting and route preparation.

The recent appointment of Frank Hazen, President of Marin Deepwater Operations, will ensure that Marin objectives and targets are met. Expanding overseas has been a primary focus over the last few months. Marin CEO George Stroud said: “The Gulf Coast represents an important market for our deepwater operations. Our new base shows our commitment to this region and will provide strategic and effective support for our customers.”

The facility covers a total of 6,800sq/ft with a workshop of 2,000sq/ft. Clients have access to a specialist operations team and the new base will reduce timescales in tool turn around and will see American nationals trained to support the US Energy sectors demand for hurricane hardening, top hole clean up, and spud can remediation.

“We have built a strong footprint in this area and our new facility ensures that we can serve the needs of our customers both locally and further afield,” says Stroud.
