Mermaid Announces New Appointments to Strengthen its Subsea Business (Thailand)
Mermaid Maritime Public Company Limited (“Mermaid”) announces that as part of the implementation of plans for its subsea engineering services division Mermaid Offshore Services Ltd. (“MOS”) to enhance its role as an international service provider in the subsea business, to deliver higher value added subsea solutions, and work in a greater number of countries and for a large number of clients, the following management appointments have been made:
Graham Cooper, Commercial Director Mermaid Offshore Services Limited
A Masters graduate of Hull University, Graham joins Mermaid in September 2011 as Commercial Director for MOS. Graham has extensive experience in the offshore marine, oil & gas industry both in senior management and project management positions in various regions across the world including the Middle East, India and South East Asia. His last position was as the Group Commercial and Contracts Director at Hallin Marine Pte. Ltd. during which time he was involved in the growth of that company from its floatation on AIMS to its subsequent acquisition. Prior to that, he worked as the Commercial Manager at Fraser Diving in the Middle East, where he achieved record revenues and profitability for that company. He has a proven track record for turning around companies and for improving results for productivity, revenue, volume and profitability in his career.
As Commercial Director for MOS, Graham will be responsible for the commercial and marketing activities of MOS as well as overseeing the integration and growth of business units Subtech Qatar and Seascape Surveys.
Bruce Saunders, Projects Director Mermaid Offshore Services Limited
Bruce joined Mermaid in August 2011 as Director of Projects for MOS. He has been working in the offshore oil & gas industry for over three decades. His recent work experience includes General Manager of Crest Subsea International where he was responsible for a wide range of responsibilities. From 2002 to 2009, he worked with BP E&P in various senior management and project management roles throughout South East Asia, most notably Indonesia and Vietnam. Prior to that he worked for Stolt Offshore, Shell Todd Oil Services and Subsea International for a number of years in various project roles.
His role in MOS will be to leverage on his technical and project management expertise to enable the company to undertake more complex projects. This will include more comprehensive technical and engineering support, as well as fulfilment of client expectations in enhanced HSE and quality assurance, processes and systems across a range of subsea services.
