MMT elects acting CEO as search for permanent replacement goes on

Sweden-based marine surveys specialist MMT has appointed an acting chief executive officer (CEO) as of January 1, 2018.

MMT said on Monday that Peter Forhaug was named as the acting CEO of the company. The company added that the recruitment of a new permanent CEO is ongoing.

Forhaug has a background in finance and has acted as a senior advisor to the board of MMT and is representing MMT at the board of the Swedish Maritime Robotics Centre (SMaRC) research project.

Johan Berg, deputy chairman of the board, said: “I would like to thank Stefan Eliasson for his contribution to build the foundation that has enabled MMT to double the turnover and place MMT in the forefront of the oil and gas inspection market.”

Former CEO Stefan Eliasson was named to the position in 2012. Before MMT, Eliasson worked for 11 years with the Swedish shipping company TransAtlantic.

Also, Ola Oskarsson, a man who founded MMT in 1976, will assist Forhaug in the role of vice president.

In related news, MMT and its partner Reach Subsea have received a frame agreement renewal from Norwegian oil giant Statoil covering both survey and light construction for the next three years.
