NDM supplies Volstad’s newbuild with deck machinery

NDM has been selected as the supplier of deck machinery to a newbuilding at Tersan Shipyard in Turkey.

The vessel is an OCV of ST-259 Arctic design for Volstad Shipping. Its main dimensions are 128 x 25m. Through its designation “Arctic”, it is obvious that the vessel is specially designed for operations in arctic waters, with significant ice class, ROV moonpools and de-icing. The vessel is further fitted with a 300t offshore crane, 120 pax accommodation and triple redundant propulsion systems.

The vessel will be supplied with the following equipment:
– Two combined windlass/mooring winches,
– Two chain stoppers,
– Four, 5 tons combined bollard capstans.

All winches are electrical, frequency controlled, driven and will be delivered to the yard in January 2015.
