Noble Corp. secures more work for jack-up rigs

Offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation has secured more work for its jack-up rigs in the Middle East and Australia.

In the Middle East, the jack-up Noble Mick O’Brien has been awarded a contract extension from late October 2019 to late March 2020.

The dayrate for the rig’s contract extension with Qatar Gas has not been disclosed. However, according to Bassoe Offshore, the rig’s dayrate under the part of the contract which expires in October is $85,000.

Noble also said that the Noble Johnny Whitstine rig had incurred 18 days of operational downtime at zero dayrate during 2Q 2019. The rig is under the contract with Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia.

In Australia, five of six option wells for the Noble Tom Prosser jack-up rig have been exercised, extending the contract to August 2020.

The rig is currently under contract with Santos which expires in October 2019. After that, the rig will work for CarbonNet/AGR from the beginning of November until the end of December 2019. In January 2020, an ExxonMobil affiliate will take over until August 2020.
