Norway: Cuts in Production Possible Due to Storm, Statoil Says

Norway’s Statoil stated that cuts or shutdowns in offshore production are possible over the upcoming weekend due to a big storm that is approaching the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Statoil’s spokesperson Ola Anders Skauby, said to Reuters that the company is evaluating its options and is considering reducing some drilling and production activities, but no firm conclusions have been made yet.

The storm is likely to hit the northern part of the North Sea, as well as the Norwegian sea area, but Mr. Skauby said the weather conditions as these are common in Norway at this time of year.
