Ivar Blekastad will take up his new role from October 2002, while Ocean Sun’s current COO, Nenad Keseric, will leave the company at the end of September.

Blekastad has more than 15 years of experience from the solar industry and in-depth knowledge of the entire value chain, according to Ocean Sun.

He has spent the last 10 years of his career at Norwegian Crystals, serving in a variety of roles including COO, CCO and CPO. Before that, Blekastad worked for four years at Rec Solar as a VP of operations and seven years at Hydro as a plant manager.

Børge Bjørneklett, founder and CEO of Ocean Sun, said: “Ivar’s extensive expertise of the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry together with long experience of product development and leading R&D teams is a great addition to our company. I have worked with Ivar in REC and I am certain he will contribute on our continuing scale-up journey.”

Ivar Blekastad, the newly appointed COO for Ocean Sun, added: “I am truly excited to join the Ocean Sun team. With my extensive experience from the PV value chain, I will do my outmost to support the growth of Ocean Sun. I look forward to being a part of Ocean Sun’s journey to become a global leader in the floating solar market.”
