Offshore Wind Conference 2015 is building without borders

The total worldwide installed wind capacity is expected to grow from 7GW in 2014 to as much as 140GW in 2040. New projects in many new locations will be realized in the future, and as 35% of the companies attending Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference in 2014 were engaged in both oil & gas and wind energy, visitors and interested parties can obtain information on several levels of offshore energy.

That’s one of the reasons why on Monday October 12, a day prior to Offshore Energy 2015, the annual Offshore WIND Conference (OWC) will take place in the Amsterdam RAI. The theme of year’s sixth annual Offshore WIND Conference is “Building an industry without borders”. The Conference hopes to not only exceed international borders, but also break down the barriers in legislation as well as mental barriers, discovering how people can promote the growth of the industry.

For fast and optimal deployment of offshore renewable energies and related grid infrastructure, international cooperation is needed on a range of issues. During the opening plenary session at Offshore WIND 2015, key experts will present possible ways to look beyond borders. In the case of offshore wind, this doesn’t only refer to a country’s geographical borders, but also borders in the minds of decision makers.

One of the prominent speakers at this session is Jim Craig, CEO from Ampelmann Operations. He will discuss the lessons to be learned from the oil & gas industry. In the same opening session Theo de Lange, Commercial Manager at Van Oord Offshore Wind Projects BV will talk about planning and development areas for offshore energy.

Two other interesting and always current topics on Offshore WIND Conference 2015 will be Operations & Maintenance and Health, Safety and Environment, with contributions from Managing Director Dennis Schiricke from Outsmart Asset management, Development Manager Peter Robert from Damen Shipyards and Albert van der Hem, partner at Blix Consultancy BV this breakout session is offering an outstanding line-up.

The program will be completed by sessions on Spatial Plannings, Financing and Insurance, (Port) Logistics and Optimizing Stakeholder Cooperation. Anyone registered for the Offshore WIND Conference receives automatic access to the Offshore Energy Exhibition.
