Oil Production from Statfjord C Resumes

In an update issued yesterday, the Norwegian oil company said the production was resumed Wednesday evening after required inspection was completed.

Statoil was forced to shut down the output from the platform on Sunday morning, after the alarm went off, triggered by an oil leak. According to Statoil’s report, 32 cubic meters of oil leaked into the sea during the incident.

“The incident is currently being investigated,” Statoil said. The incident is also being investigated by the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway.
