OLT Offshore LNG Toscana awards peak shaving tender

OLT Offshore LNG Toscana has awarded the tender for cargo delivery to the FSRU Toscana that will be used for peak shaving services during the winter period.

According to the company’s statement, a cargo of 105,000 cubic meters of LNG will be delivered during the month of December and will provide Snam Rete Gas,  the Italian natural gas distributor.

The name of the selected bidder has not been revealed by OLT Offshore LNG Toscana.

In case of an emergency in the period starting January 1, 2017, to March 31, 2017, the cargo would be regasified and delivered to the gas transmission network.

FSRU Toscana is located 22km off the Italian coast between Livorno and Pisa.

The terminal is permanently anchored to the seabed through a mooring system, with a single point of rotation at the bow.

It is connected to the Italian national grid through a 36.5 km long pipeline, operated and managed by Snam Rete Gas.

At full capacity, the FSRU has the capability to regasify 3.75 billion cubic meters of natural gas a year, about 4 percent of the national requirement.
