Chinese yard CIMC and OOS International have been awarded the four-year contract by Petrobras for the provision of the OOS Tiradentes, a semi-submersible accommodation vessel, to provide safety and maintenance support offshore Brazil from April 2023 onwards. This was revealed by CIMC in a statement on Monday.

The accommodation unit was built by Yantai CIMC Raffles and delivered in February 2018. This latest contract award follows two long-term contracts previously awarded by Petrobras in 2018 and 2019. OOS Tiradentes is managed by Ocean Challenger, an asset management company under CIMC, with its technical manager OOS International, an offshore service provider for ship management.

Designed and built by CIMC Raffles in 2018, OOS Tiradentes is a high-specification semi-submersible accommodation vessel with DP3 equipped with an advanced telescopic gangway and a capacity to accommodate 600 people. Named after a Brazilian hero, this vessel has been serving Petrobras since 2018.

CIMC Raffles and Ocean Challenger companies are under CIMC Group, specializing in offshore equipment manufacturing and asset management, respectively.
