Petronas charters Jasa Merin AHTS trio

Malaysian oil and gas giant Petronas has hired three anchor handling tug and supply vessels from compatriot Jasa Merin.

Jasa Merin’s parent company Marine & General said Monday the duration of the contracts was six months. Petronas will have an option to extend for six months.

The contracts, Marine & General said, are worth RM6.98 million each (for a total value of RM 20.9 million) for the primary term.

Marine & Global did not say which vessels exactly will be used by Petrobras, nor where they will be deployed. According to Jasa Merin’s website, the company owns 19 AHTS vessels.
