Heerema cuts first steel for Oranje-Nassau Energie's platformHeerema Fabrication Group has cut first steel for Oranje Nassau Energie’s P11-E field platform at its Zwijndrecht yard in the Netherlands.

Heerema received the order from Oranje Nassau Energie for the procurement & construction of a topside and jacket for an unmanned and sustainable satellite platform for the P11-E field in July 2015. The field is located near the Dutch coast.

The platform will be unmanned and operated from a central station on the Dutch coast. There will be a helideck in the event of maintenance or an emergency to reach the platform quickly. In addition, the topside is self-sufficient regarding electricity generation thanks to solar panels and wind turbines.

The topside will measure 31 x 25 metres, has a height of 13 meters and will weigh 500 tonnes. The jacket will have a height of 49 metres with a foot print of 20 x 20 metres and a weight of approximately 1,000 tonnes.

The P11-E platform is a natural gas processing offshore facility and will treat the gas feed from the P11-E field on the Dutch continental shelf. The P11-E field is located 55 kilometres North West off the Rotterdam harbour. The produced gas and condensate from the platform will be exported via a pipeline to the P15-D platform where the gas and condensate will be treated to further export.
