Picture of the day: Curtis Island LNG city

Curtis Island, located offshore Gladstone, Australia, is home to three liquefied natural gas export plants which are being built by LNG engineer Bechtel.

At full capacity, the three Curtis Island projects combined will produce about 25 million tonnes of LNG per annum for the global market, the equivalent to powering a city the size of Tokyo with 13 million people, according to Bechtel.

The three projects are: Queensland Curtis LNG, which is operated by BG Group, Santos GLNG, and Australia Pacific LNG, operated by ConocoPhillips.
