‘Polar King’ Stays with Nexans

Norwegian offshore vessels provider GC Rieber Shipping and cabling specialist Nexans have agreed to extend the firm period of the charter for the construction support vessel Polar King for 11 months.

The first time charter agreement announced in March 2016, was set for a fixed period of about 8.5 months, which was later followed by extension set to end in September 2018.

The new deal should now see the vessel continue to support Nexans’ operations through August 2019.

GC Rieber CEO, Christian Berg, said: “We are pleased to see that the vessel, crew and our organizational capabilities are recognized by Nexans in a competitive market. We look forward to continuing the good cooperation with them.”

The CSV Polar King joined GC Rieber’s fleet in March 2011 following its construction at Freire Shipyard in Spain.
