Polarcus in XArray 3D shoot in Asia Pacific

Marine seismic acquisition company Polarcus has received a Letter of Award for an XArray 3D marine seismic acquisition project in the Asia Pacific.

The Polarcus XArray is an acquisition configuration developed by Polarcus to deliver ‘superior’ data quality and make full use of today’s larger streamer spreads.

According to Polarcus, it improves both in-line shots by 100- 250 percent and cross-line bin density by up to 400 percent on any streamer separation and can be tailored to provide higher fold data, increase crossline sampling and improve acquisition efficiency.

Polarcus on Wednesday said the project duration would be for approximately two months and is expected to start immediately after “the recently announced Australian project.”

As reported earlier on Wednesday, Polarcus entered into a contract for a broadband 3D marine seismic acquisition project in Australia.

Polarcus said on Wednesday that the project would last approximately two months and would begin immediately.

The exact location of the project, financial details, or the vessel which would conduct the project were not disclosed.

“These awards in Asia Pacific provide important visibility, extending a regional campaign for Polarcus well into Q3 2018,” Polarcus said on Wednesday.
