PTT eyes cooperation with Gazprom, signs second LNG MoU in Russia

Russian giant Gazprom, on Wednesday, said it has signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the oil and gas industry with PTT of Thailand.

The two companies discussed the possibility of working together on hydrocarbon development, joint LNG projects, LNG and LPG trading and the exchange of experience in the oil and gas industry, Gazprom’s statement reveals.

This is PTT’s second cooperation agreement signed with a Russian company during the week following a similar deal signed with Novatek.

PTT has recently been on the lookout for new suppliers, with the company’s chief executive Pailin Chuchottaworn saying last year the company is also looking to extend its cooperation with Qatargas.

At the beginning of 2015, Qatargas started delivering LNG to PTT on a 20-year deal for two million tons per year.
