Qatar, Pakistan closing in on LNG supply deal

Qatargas and Pakistan are reportedly close to signing the LNG supply deal.

According to sources, Qatargas will supply Pakistan with 3 million tons of LNG annually for a period of 15 years, Reuters reports.

The deal is set to be finalized within the next few weeks and the first shipment will be delivered by March.

According to earlier reports, the first cargo could be delivered in the first week of March following the completion of the LNG import terminal near Karachi.

The terminal with the initial capacity of 0.4 bcf of LNG per day is seen as a tool for solving the country’s energy crisis.
