RDS said on Thursday that it named Daniel McAteer as its head of brownfield.

Reporting directly to RDS senior vice president Albert Allan, McAteer re-joins KCA Deutag having worked for the company between 2005 and 2009.

The company noted that he brings more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas, defense, and heavy engineering industries with particular expertise in drilling, FPSO, asset life extension, renewables, and decommissioning.

During his career to date, he held a wide variety of roles, most recently as a chief business development officer for Global Energy Group and projects and commercial director for Petrofac Integrated Energy Services.

Regarding the appointment, Allan said: “I am delighted that Dan has agreed to join the RDS senior management team. His cross-sector experience will be invaluable as we look to grow our Brownfield offering.”

In recent company news, RDS and Kavin Engineering and Services entered into a strategic alliance in August to jointly pursue design and engineering projects across the upstream and midstream oil and gas market.
