Repsol resumes offshore drilling in Namibia

Spanish oil company Repsol has resumed drilling at its well offshore Namibia, after experiencing problems with drillship’s subsea systems on May 19, 2014.

According to Tower Resources, which owns a stake in the Namibia PEL0010 licence, Welwitschia-1A well drilling restarted on the morning of 4 June 2014.

The well is being drilled by the Rowan Renaissance drillship, owned by Houston-based Rowan Companies.
