Rig Arrives at Manora-5 Location, Offshore Thailand

Tap Oil Limited has announced that the drilling rig has arrived on location at Manora-5 exploration well, in the Gulf of Thailand.

Manora-5 is the first of three wells planned in the 2012 exploration drilling campaign offshore Thailand.

The exploration well is located in the G1/48 concession in the Gulf of Thailand, three kilometres north of the Manora Oil Development. The exploration well is being drilled in shallow water and will be drilled to approximately 2,450 metres true vertical depth. It will test a separate geological structure, independent of the Manora field, and target a combined prospective resource of around 12 million barrels (PMean) in the primary and secondary targets.

Troy Hayden, Managing Director/CEO of Tap Oil recently said: “We see significant long-term exploration potential in our Thailand acreage and this program provides an opportunity to consolidate Tap’s regional position and extract further value from our Thailand acquisition.”

The well is expected to reach target depth of approximately 2,450 metres true vertical depth within 15 days.
