Rig Sinks in Saudi Arabia. Three Workers Dead

Three workers drowned in Saudi Arabia when an offshore rig sank during maintenance works on Friday. Twenty four workers were rescued.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Aramco, the owner of the rig, recovered the three bodies and handed them to authorities. The workers are two Indians and a Bangladeshi. The accident took place in the Safaniya offshore oil field area in the Persian Gulf, 35 kilometers off the port of Ras Al Khafji.

Saudi Aramco said it was investigating the cause of the incident.
