SAL Heavy Lift done with Ichthys shipments

SAL Heavy Lift GmbH has completed a series of shipments totaling more than 100,000 freight tons for the Inpex-operated Ichthys LNG Project near Darwin, NT, Australia.

The was contracted by the Project’s freight forwarder SDV, for five shipments performed on a consecutive basis from load-ports Sattahip, Masan, Busan and Shanghai.

The shipments were carried by SAL’s vessel MV REGINE with 2 x 700ts cranes.

Among the items shipped were 2 x Acid Gas Removal units each more than 800ts (each 42 x 10.5 x 10.8mtrs) and 2 x Radiant Convertor Modules both more than 25 m high (each 10.5 x 10 x 25m / 217 t). All shipments were discharged at the Project’s Module Offloading Facility (MOF).

Located about 220 kilometers offshore Western Australia and 820 kilometres southwest of Darwin, the Ichthys field is estimated to contain more than 12 trillion cubic feet of gas and 500 million barrels of condensate. The project’s 889 kilometre gas export pipeline will connect the onshore processing facilities near Darwin to the Ichthys field.
