Schlumberger man becomes Borr Drilling director

Offshore drilling contractor Borr Drilling has appointed a new member to its board of directors.

Borr Drilling said on Thursday that it appointed the executive vice president of new ventures at Schlumberger, Patrick Schorn, as its new member of the board of directors.

Before his current executive VP role at Schlumberger, Schorn held various global management positions including president of operations, president of the production group, president of well services, president of completions, and geomarket manager in Russia, all for Schlumberger.

He began his career with Schlumberger in 1991 as a stimulation engineer in Europe and held various management and engineering positions in France, United States, Russia, U.S. Gulf of Mexico, and Latin America.

Schorn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Oil and Gas Technology from the Noorder Haaks University in Den Helder in the Netherlands.

In related news, Borr last week took delivery of the Keppel-built jack-up rig Saga, the first of five jack-ups that Keppel is building for Borr Drilling.
