Sevan Drilling’s offshore drilling rig is now ready to begin drilling operations in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

Sevan Louisiana begins its contract with LLOG

Sevan Drilling said in a statement that Sevan Louisiana has completed acceptance testing and started contract with LLOG in the US Gulf of Mexico on 28 May, 2014.

The Sevan Louisiana is an ultra deep water rig (UDW), built in 2013 at the Cosco shipyard in Nantong, China. The self-propelled rig, equipped with eight thrusters, can accommodate up to 150 crew members.

The Sevan Louisiana is contracted with LLOG in the US Gulf of Mexico for a firm period of 1,095 days and the total revenue potential for the primary contract term is approximately USD 585.5 million inclusive of the mobilization fee.
