Siem scraps another PSV order

Shipping company Siem Offshore has canceled another order for a platform supply vessel (PSV) made in Poland.

The company ordered four dual fueled PSVs of VS 4411 DF design from Poland’s Remontowa Shipbuilding over three years ago, in December 2013. This type of platform supplier has an overall length of 89 meters, a beam of 19 meters, a deck area of 970 m2 and 5,500 dwt.

On Wednesday, Siem canceled the order for the PSV number four due to delay in the delivery.

This is the second PSV order Siem scrapped with Remontowa. Namely, back in December 2016, the shipping company canceled the shipbuilding contract for the PSV number three in the series, also due to delay in the delivery.

The company noted it is covered with Refund Guarantees from an international bank for all pre-delivery installments made under the contract.

Prior to this, Siem took delivery of two PSVs from Remontowa, the Siem Pride and the Siem Thiima.
