Statoil Orders Two Jack-Ups Worth $1.3 Bln from Samsung

Statoil, a Norwegian oil and gas exploration and production company, has placed an order for two jack-up rigs to be built in South Korea.

The news was revealed by Samsung Heavy Industries, which, in its filing to the Korea Stock Exchange, said that the value of the contract was approximately $1.3 billion.

The rigs are expected to be delivered in late 2016.
