Statoil to Use Ocean Vanguard in PL 104 Drilling Ops (Norway)

Statoil Petroleum ASA has received consent to carry out exploration drilling of well 30/9-25 in production licence 104 in the Norwegian North Sea using the Ocean Vanguard rig.

The planned start-up is September 2013 with a duration of 43 days, depending on whether a discovery is made.

Ocean Vanguard is operated by Diamond Offshore with an operations office in Stavanger and technical and operational support from the company’s office in Aberdeen.

The rig is registered in the Marshall Islands, with Det Norske Veritas as the classification society.

Ocean Vanguard was built in 1982 and received Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) from the PSA in July 2004.
