Subsea 7 lands Seagreen deal
Subsea 7 has won a contract from SSE Renewables for Seagreen wind farm foundations and inter-array cables offshore Scotland.
The Seagreen development will be a 1,075MW offshore wind farm, comprising 114 wind turbines off the east coast of Scotland.
Subsea 7’s renewables division Seaway 7 will manage the EPCI of foundations and also some 300 kilometres of inter-array cables.
The deal will immediately secure 30 jobs within Seaway 7’s Aberdeen office.
Eventually, this number should reach around 50 jobs at the peak of activity.
Steph McNeill, executive vice president – Renewables at Seaway 7, said:
“We have been active in the UK Renewables sector for over a decade and are very pleased to continue to support the ongoing energy transition in the UK.”
In addition, the company said that the contract is worth over $ 750 million.
