Subsea 7 reducing workforce in Norway

Subsea 7, an international provider of subsea installation services to the oil and gas industry, will reduce its headcount in Norway.

According to the Stavanger Aftenblad, 70 offshore workers in Norway will have to go due to a decline in offshore activity.

The affected employees will be offered severance packages, a company’s spokesperson told Aftenblad.

Offshore Energy Today has reached out to Subsea 7 for more details. We will update the article should we get a response.

To remind, citing a declining workload, Subsea 7 in May this year said it would lay off 2,500 workers by early 2016, and reduce its vessel fleet by up to 11 vessels.

The company had 13.000 workers at the end of 2014.
