According to the UK company, the work was completed ahead of schedule at what is CNOOC’s first subsea deepwater project located in the South China Sea.

The Lingshui 17-2 field is the first self-operated, 1,500-meter deep-water gas field development project in China.

To remind, Subsea 7 secured a contract by Offshore Oil Engineering Co. (COOEC) for the project back in 2019, under which it was in charge of the transport and installation of five steel catenary risers.

The subsea production system for the field situated off the Hainan Province consists of eleven horizontal subsea trees, four manifolds, topside and subsea control system, and a vertical tie-in connection system.

The 100,000-ton deepwater semi-submersible production and storage platform for Lingshui was launched at the beginning of the year.
