Swire names new CEO

Swire Oilfield Services, a supplier of cargo carrying units to the offshore energy industry, has named a new CEO.

Manfred Vonlanthen will become the new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding John Bruce (J.B) Rae-Smith who will be stepping down due to personal reasons.

To remind, Rae-Smith was appointed CEO in September last year, taking over from Tor Helgeland.

The new CEO, Vonlanthen, joined Swire Oilfield Services in 2014, as general manager for the Norwegian division, before advancing to director of North Sea in September 2016, where, in addition to managing the North Sea business, he has been a key member of the executive management team, Swire said.

Operating in 28 countries, Swire Oilfield Services supplies specialized offshore containers to the global energy industry. It also provides offshore workspace, testing, inspection, maintenance and bespoke modification solutions. It has more than 500 employees.
