Tanzania: East Africa Gas Forum to Be Held in September

East Africa Gas Forum to Be Held in September

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the East Africa region holds 441.1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The commercial potential for IOCs and NOCs investing in East African gas is massive, although there are some geopolitical, licensing, and infrastructure issues that will need to be addressed.

The East Africa Gas Forum, supported by UK Trade & Investment in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on 5-7 September, 2012, will explore these opportunities and challenges in developing infrastructure and uncover the potential for LNG exports to benefit both companies investing in the region as well as the local population.

The Forum has attracted support from some of the key players in the region and sponsors, including:

  • ExxonMobil
  • Halliburton/Landmark Software and Services
  • Everett Aviation
  • SGS

The conference is divided into three days of interactive discussion-based sessions which encourage audience participation with the top industry leaders, policy and decision makers, and representatives from international investors and operators active in or coming to the region.
