TC Marcia forces Bechtel to cancel work at Curtis Island LNG projects

Bechtel informed that regular scheduled work across the three Curtis Island LNG projects has been canceled for the next two days.

The work cancelation is due to Bureau of Meteorology’s forecast for the next two days. The BOM issued a Tropical Cyclone Advice Number 10 advising TC Marcia continues to intensify and is predicted to be upgraded to a Category 3 system before landfall.

The company has already evacuated local workers from the Curtis Island back to the mainland.

Bechtel informed that Emergency response teams and ISOS medical professionals are on hand to the workers who remained at the camp.
