The milestone was achieved 20 days earlier than contractually initiated, TGE said, thanking the project team for their effort and its customer Guangdong Huizhou LNG for the trust they placed in TGE.

To note, China’s Guangdong started building the Huizhou LNG terminal in Huizhou, southeast Guangdong Province, in July 2021, and soon after it signed an EPC contract with TGE.

The project, consisting of 3 x 200,000 m3 LNG storage tanks plus related facilities, enables the loading and unloading of LNG ships with sizes between 80,000 and 266,000 m3. The maximum annual capacity for receiving LNG is 6.1 million tons.

According to TGE, the terminal is expected to start operation by mid-2024.
