The strategic alliance combines Avantis Group’s environmental expertise with OEM Group’s oilfield capabilities, forging new paths in service efficiency and innovation across engine services, drilling rental tools, fuel testing, and filtration while boosting efforts toward integrating oilfield services with eco-conscious strategies.

George Gourlay, Non-Executive Director (NED) Strategy & Development of Avantis Group, remarked:  “This strategic alliance with OEM Group reflects our belief in the power of collaboration, Avantis have experienced dynamic growth over the past 4 years, and it is crucial that we build on this and keep the momentum going.

“To achieve continued growth, it is essential that we partner with synergistic organizations such as OEM Group that bring complementary service offerings and new skill sets to Avantis Group. I am genuinely excited about the possibilities that lie ahead of us as a collaborative partnership and look forward to working with Barry and his team.”

Founded in 2012, the OEM Group acquired fellow Aberdeen-based Uniconn in 2018, after which it entered the UAE market in 2021. The company is focused on oilfield services while Avantis was founded in 2018 to supply clean technology, power solutions, and asset optimization services.

Barry Park, Group Managing Director of OEM Group, added: “We are delighted to align with Avantis through the recently signed MOU. The agreement allows OEM to reach new markets across different industries and be involved with larger projects while continuing to deliver the high standard of quality on power related solutions and beyond.  Avantis is an exciting business to be working with who have a fantastic team throughout, bringing a vast amount of knowledge across multi-disciplines.”

With the energy transition momentum becoming more pronounced, many oilfield services players are pursuing sustainability with more vigor. One of the recent examples includes the partnership between Weatherford and Honeywell to offer clients tools for advanced emissions management, and therefore speed up their decarbonization journey, by combining data platforms.
