The 71.300 GT cruise ship AIDAstella, MEYER WERFT latest newbuild, left the building dock I on Friday January 25th 2013. Later that day the ship was shifted into the shipard’s harbor and berthed at the outfitting quay. In the following days at the outfitting pier the last working activities, tests and trials will be carried out.

The 71,300 tons club ship has a length overall of 253 m and a total width of 32.2 m. The ship is equipped with 1097 cabins and 7 restaurants and 12 bars. The new ship has 14 decks and equals her sister ships AIDAblu, AIDAsol and AIDAmar also in respect to size.

This new cruise ship has very comfortable and tasteful decor with modern technical requirements. The diesel-electric propulsion system, interactive communication systems, sophisticated technology and entertainment on board, complying with the latest technical standards, are the guarantee for safety and entertainment. Four diesel engines will drive the cruise ship with 50.000 hp allowing the ship to operate at a speed of 23 knots. The ship’s interior decoration is characterized by a Nordic design and impresses with Scandinavian charm.
