According to Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), the topside SPD14B was loaded out at a yard in Bandar Abbas on June 10 and will be transferred to its designated offshore location in the Persian Gulf in the coming days.

POGC has said that offshore facilities of Phase 14 include four platforms (two main and two satellite platforms). SPD-14B is the second main platform of the project, and is expected to be installed on a subsea jacket soon.

The Iranian oil and gas new agency Shana has said that, once the platform is operational, it will produce 500 million cubic feet or around 14.1 million cubic meters of natural gas per day. The platform is expected to be installed by the end of the month.

Below is the video of the loadout, as shared by one of POGC engineers via social media:

The South Pars field is located in the Persian Gulf, between Iran and Qatar, and the field is shared between the two countries. In Qatar, the field, considered the world’s largest gas field, is called North Dome or just North field.

Iranian Minister of Petroleum, Bijan Zangeneh, recently said Iran’s gas output capacity from the South Pars offshore gas field would surpass 750 million cubic meters per day by late 2019, and Iran’s overall gas production would reach 950 mcm/d by 2020.

Iran in March said it had for the first time surpassed Qatar in gas extraction from the South Pars.
