Vroon’s ‘VOS Stone’ goes down the slipway

The DP2 subsea support walk-to-work (W2W) vessel, VOS Stone, has been launched from the Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding yard in China, last weekend.

The VOS Stone and its sister vessel VOS Start, constructed to a new design, were commissioned by Dutch provider of offshore support vessels, Vroon, for offshore accommodation and transfer purposes.

The launch of the VOS Start and the keel laying ceremony of the VOS Stone was held at Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding, China, in March this year.

According to Vroon, VOS Stone and VOS Start can carry a total of 87 persons, offering accommodation and workspace for up to 27 crew members and 60 workers. The vessels can be fitted with a W2W system and offshore crane. The vessels can also be fitted with a davit-launched daughter craft.

The company said that both VOS Start and VOS Stone are scheduled for delivery later this year and will be operated by Vroon Offshore Services.
