New Patrol Vessel for the Falkland Islands

HMS CLYDE is coming to the Falkland Islands to replace HMS DUMBARTON CASTLE as the FALKLAND ISLANDS PATROL VESSEL (FIPV). CLYDE’s sister ships in the class – MERSEY and SEVERN are employed on UK Fishery Protection duties. CLDE is being built by VT and is a bigger and more capable ship than the Castl

HMS CLYDE is coming to the Falkland Islands to replace HMS DUMBARTON CASTLE as the FALKLAND ISLANDS PATROL VESSEL (FIPV). CLYDE’s sister ships in the class – MERSEY and SEVERN are employed on UK Fishery Protection duties. CLDE is being built by VT and is a bigger and more capable ship than the Castle Class that she is replacing. She launches this June and will be named in a ceremony in September to which the Governor and CBF have been invited.
